THE EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL AND/OR L-TRYPTOPHAN ON BEHAVIOR

Healthy women and men ages 21-45 who drink beer, wine, or mixed drinks are needed for participation in research studies.

Participants will be compensated for their time.

Participation is weekdays from 8am to 5pm and the studies last 7-11 days.

THE EFFECTS OF METHYLPHENIDATE ON ADOLESCENT BEHAVIOR AND PHYSIOLOGY

Has your child been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder with Conduct Disorder. If so, he or she may be eligible to participate in a research study of the effects of a medication on attention and memory in teenagers. Study participants must be between the ages of 13 and 17 years old and show some of the following difficulties at home and at school:

  • Fighting             •  Lying and Deceitfulness   •  Skipping School          •  Theft        • Fire setting       •  Tantrums
  • Hyperactivity      •  Lack of Attention              •  Always Fidgeting        

 

Participants will be paid for thier time and provided a medication at no cost.

BEHAVIOR, BIOLOGICAL MARKERS, AND DEVELOPMENT AMONG ADOLESCENT INPATIENTS AND HEALTHY VOLUNTEERS

Has your teenager been hospitalized for a psychiatric treatment?

If so, they may be eligible to participate in a study about behavior, biology, and development.
Study participants must be between the ages of 12 and 17 and a parent/guardian must also be willing to participate.

 

Participants will be compensated for their time.

PARENTS AND CHILDREN NEEDED FOR RESEARCH STUDY

To qualify, families must:
      - Have a child who is 10, 11, or 12 years old.
      - Have a father with past or current drug or alcohol problems.
      - Have a parent living with the child available to take part in the study.

Study procedures include confidential interviews about your child’s personal experiences and computer tests of attention and decision making.

Families will be paid for their participation
