The NRLC received funding for two new studies: 

  • NIAAA funded a project focusing predicting the capacity to reduce alcohol use by binge drinkers
  • NIDA funded a project focusing on development of impulse control among children and adolescents who are at high risk of problems with substance abuse.

Dr. Donald Dougherty was appointed Vice President of the International Society for Tryptophan Research.  In this capacity he will lead the local planning committee for their 2015 convention.

NRLC Home

The NRLC is a group of investigators who use a translational approach to research that incorporates areas of behavioral, biological, physiological, and clinical approaches.

The overriding purpose of the NRLC is to increase the understanding of the behavioral, biological, and physiological processes that lead to maladaptive behaviors such as impulsivity, fighting, alcohol and drug abuse, and suicide.
